Beneficiaries of the Foundation are selected after careful review of the patient’s medical records as well as other selection criteria set by the Foundation. The minimum criteria for all potential beneficiaries are that the beneficiary is presently treated in one of the 5 state-run paediatric cardiac facilities in South Africa for congenital heart disease. For children with CHD outside of South Africa, the child’s primary cardiac care physician should contact the Foundation directly by emailing us at surgical.africa@tccfa.org for more information on determining the patient’s eligibility to be considered for the Surgical Program: Rest of Africa.
